How YTC works

Sales. Finance. Operations. Customers. Each with its own tools, people and suppliers.

And you’re the one holding it all together. Chasing hand-offs, re-typing data, catching what slips.

One system. One owner. Not you. Your people, tools and data, connected with AI and automation, and owned by YTC.

Fractional CTO

One role. Whatever’s in the way.

As your fractional CTO, I own your technology part-time, as much or as little as you need. Founders usually bring me one of these.

  1. CRM & WhatsApp lead automation

Enquiries are slipping through the cracks.

WhatsApp and CRM lead journeys where every lead has an owner, a next step and a recorded outcome.

2.6× more conversions a month for a premium real-estate business.

  2. Technology strategy & cost review

Too many tools, rising costs, nothing joined up.

A clear call on what to keep, connect, replace or stop, before you spend more.

Infrastructure costs cut 70% on a council platform.

  3. Architecture review & delivery rescue

A build that’s stuck, late or fragile.

Back on track, with decisions you understand and one person accountable for delivery, whoever is doing the building.

A stalled council project live in 3 months.

  4. AI product & MVP delivery

An AI idea you want to test properly.

A small, cost-aware product with clear inputs, outputs and review, and someone owning it in production.

Charity due diligence in 3 minutes, for about 40p, in an AI MVP.

  5. Product & platform builds

A product to build from zero.

Architecture, team and launch, owned from the first decision.

Nearly seven years as CTO, building e-commerce, salon ERP and dairy operations platforms.

Start with one fix. Keep me on if it’s useful.

Every engagement starts with a single scoped piece of work. After that, you decide whether I stay on as your ongoing CTO.

Results

Six businesses. What changed, and what made it work.

Different industries, different stacks, one habit: know what a system will cost and whether it can ship — before it gets built.

  1. Revenue · Premium farm plots, India

    2.6× more conversions a month

Enquiries from WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, on plots starting at ₹20 lakh, rebuilt into one journey: 50+ WhatsApp templates, 20+ workflows, and an owner and a next step for every lead. Conversions rose from 0.6 to 1.55 a month. I then rebuilt the same pattern for two education brands in two months.

Leads rarely go cold. They go unowned.

  2. Cost · UK council

    Cut infrastructure costs 70%

Bradford Council’s holiday activities platform ran on a server billed twelve months a year to serve three. Rebuilt serverless, the bill follows the programme.

Most cloud overspend is decided at design time, not discovered on the invoice.

  3. Rescue · UK council

Stalled project live in 3 months. Then the client hired me.

Brought in as external CTO on a children’s-services platform that had stopped moving. A secure production release in about three months, with independent security testing going from twelve findings, four of them high-risk, to a clean report. The client’s CEO then hired me as Head of IT.

What unblocks a stalled build is ownership, not more developers.

  4. AI · UK social impact

Charity due diligence in 3 minutes, for about 40p

An AI MVP that scores a charity on ten dimensions from official registers and filings, with every source cited, a confidence level on every score, and a person able to override it. A company ESG profile takes about a minute.

Most AI projects stall because nobody modelled the business first. The model is the easy part.

  5. Commerce · Consumer brands, India

20% more revenue, 40% less wasted ad spend

Nearly seven years as CTO, building an e-commerce platform that ran four consumer brands, alongside salon and dairy operations systems. These gains came from customer-targeting work my team shipped.

Technology earns its place when it shows up in the revenue line.

  6. Scale · UK geospatial consultancy

Per-client consulting to a self-serve platform for 2 million postcodes

A consultancy’s manual analysis, done client by client, became a platform anyone can use: type any of England’s two million postcodes and get the analysis in seconds.

If revenue only grows when you hire, that is an architecture problem.

Tools & technologies

30+ technologies. One owner across all of them.

In production since 2016, from banking at Oracle to e-commerce and operations platforms in India, and public-sector and AI platforms in the UK.

  • 35 technologies
  • 5 layers of your business
  • 1 owner across all of them
Most businesses have a different supplier for each layer, and nobody accountable for the joins between them.

Questions

What founders ask first.

What does a fractional CTO do?

A fractional CTO gives a business senior technology leadership part-time, without a full-time hire. At YTC that means owning the technology end to end: diagnosing systems, cost and vendors, setting the roadmap, making the architecture decisions, and leading delivery until the result can be measured.

When does a business need a fractional CTO rather than a full-time one?

When technology decisions carry real commercial weight but there is not yet a full-time CTO’s worth of work. Typical moments are choosing a platform or vendor, a build that has stalled, cloud costs that keep rising, turning a manual service into a product, or growing past what a founder can hold together by hand.

How is a fractional CTO different from a consultant or a development agency?

A consultant advises and leaves; an agency builds what it is asked to build. A fractional CTO is accountable for the outcome: deciding what should be built, holding developers and vendors to it, and owning the result. YTC sits on the client’s side of the table, including when an agency does the building.

How does working with YTC start?

With a free 30-minute call: a straight conversation about what you are running, what it is costing you, and what should change, with no obligation and no pitch deck. Within a few hours, you get a written fix-first list: the one thing to fix first, two after it, and what to leave alone or not buy yet. It is yours whether or not you work with YTC. If you want help, the scope and cost of that first piece of work are agreed before you commit. Book the free call.

What does it cost to work with YTC?

It depends on the scope of the work, so there is no fixed price list. The first step is a free 30-minute call, where Parag understands your exact requirement. The cost is then set out for that scope, before you commit to anything. Every engagement starts with one scoped piece of work; after that, you decide whether YTC stays on as your ongoing CTO. Book the free call.

Can YTC work with my existing developers or agency?

Yes. YTC sits on your side of the table: setting the priorities, reviewing what gets built, holding developers, agencies and vendors to the outcome, and leading delivery when it has stalled. The aim is to get more from the people already in place, and to say plainly where a different partner or hire is needed.

Can YTC work with a UK business from India?

Yes. Parag works from Mumbai and has delivered for UK organisations remotely since 2022: a council’s holiday activities platform, a geospatial consultancy’s national platform, and an AI platform for the UK social-impact sector.

Does YTC only work with technology companies?

No. Most clients are founder-led businesses where technology is a means, not the product: premium real estate, education, consumer brands, a council programme, a geospatial consultancy and charities. What they share is technology that has become harder than it should be.

What if I don’t need a fractional CTO?

Then the fix-first list after the free call will say so. Sometimes the right answer is a process change, better use of a tool you already pay for, or a specific hire, and the list is yours either way.

What results has YTC delivered?

Six, from six businesses: 2.6× more conversions a month for a premium real-estate business in India; infrastructure costs cut 70% on Bradford Council’s holiday activities platform; a stalled council project live in three months; charity due diligence in about three minutes, for about 40p, in an AI MVP; 20% more revenue and 40% less wasted ad spend across four consumer brands; and a consultancy’s manual analysis turned into a self-serve platform for around two million England postcodes.
